Therapy with room to breathe

Therapy doesn’t have to happen within four walls.

Does this sound familiar?

Do you feel disconnected from yourself, your partner, or the natural world?

Are you battling the same challenges over and over, unsure how to break through?

Has traditional talk therapy left you wanting more?

Or maybe you and your partner have drifted, and you're not sure how to find your way back.

If so, you're in the right place.

You might be:

  • A couple struggling with communication or connection

  • A high achiever with untapped potential

  • Someone carrying old wounds

  • Someone with ADHD, or in a relationship where ADHD is present

  • A creative, or someone who's never quite belonged to the dominant narrative

  • Someone looking for a deeper connection with life

How I work

I believe healing happens through connection:

with yourself, with the people you love, and with the living world around us.

Your body.

Old patterns and stuck emotions often live beneath words. Somatic work helps your nervous system settle and release what talk alone can't reach.

Your relationships.

With Emotionally Focused Therapy, couples learn the patterns and emotions beneath their conflict and find their way back to each other.

The natural world.

In my work, nature is a co-therapist, not a backdrop. Being outdoors can open things that rarely surface in a chair.

Healing doesn't have to happen within four walls. I see clients in a light-filled office in NW Portland's Slabtown neighborhood, on nature-based sessions at local parks in Portland, and through limited telehealth sessions within Oregon.

Where we meet

Whether under the trees or under a roof, there is room for all of you here.

Juliana Pirkle (she/her)

M.A. Marriage & Family Therapist Associate

Hi, I'm Juliana. I’m a former wilderness guide with a master’s in marriage and family therapy, and I bring the natural world into the heart of my work.

My approach is curious and warm, with gentle but firm boundaries: a container strong enough to weather the storm, and spacious enough to go deep.
